Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn won the WWE Tag Team Championships from The Usos at WrestleMania – and tonight will finally make their first high profile title defense.
Owens is fresh back from a minor injury, but Finn Balor & Damien Priest of The Judgement Day intend to put him right back on the shelf. Adding to the danger of this match, it’s a Steel City Street Fight – meaning all weapons are legal, and so is interference from Dominik Mysterio.
Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens Get Into A Good Ol’ Hockey Fight
A brawl would immediately break out, with Owens splitting off with Priest and Zayn with Balor. Balor would drop Zayn in the ring with a steel chair before grabbing more plunder.
Owens would drop him with a lariat before arming himself and Zayn with trash cans. They’d bash Balor & Priest, before getting Balor in the ring.
Placing a trash can on his head, they’d whack it with kendo sticks – before setting up a table at ringside. Priest would kick Owens as he tried to use a trash can again, before using itt for himself.
A big forearm smash landed, levelling Owens on the announce table for a moment. Back into the ring, Balor & Priest would stomp Zayn into the corner, while Owens grabbed a steel chair.
Priest would be bashed, before Balor got Owens in the back with a chair. Zayn would smash Balor out of the ring with the chair, only for NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio to show up and help Judgement Day. Finally having the man advantage, Zayn & Owens would be put in the penalty box.
They’d pop out wearing Pittsburgh Penguin jerseys and armed with hockey sticks – Owen wearing Lemiux, and Zayn wearing Crosby.
Using the sticks to gain a year of slashing penalties, the champions gained control. Zayn piled chairs in the ring for a Blue Thunder Bomb on Balor. Priest recovered and threw Zayn into chairs he set up using the Broken Arrow.
Focusing on Owens – Balor & Priest would drag him into the crowd – throwing him into the camera man. Zayn would catch up, throwing wild punches at Priest – leaving Owens to deal with an old rival in Balor.
They would reach the Kickoff Panel desk, and Dominik came back to the fight but was quickly shut down by Owens.
The Influence Of The Judgement Day Only Grows
Dominik was set up on a table, and Owens would dive out of the crowd with a Swanton Bomb – ending the night for Dominik… and maybe himself.
Back in the ring, Zayn tried for the Helluva Kick on Balor – but Priest threw a trash can at his face. Exploder Suplex into the corner landed on Priest, before Balor was put through the table at ringside.
Another Helluva Kick was stopped by Priest, who tried for the South Of Heaven chokeslam. Owens would hit the ring, setting up Priest for the successful Helluva Kick – only for JD McDonagh to make the save as Zayn made the pinfall. Owens would powerbomb JD onto the announce table – only for Rhea Ripley to hit the spear through the barricade on Owens.
Zayn would be left with Balor in the ring, and avoided the Coup De Grace – and landed the Helluva Kick. Dominik Mysterio would recover, and hit Zayn with Priests Money in the Bank briefcase. He’d drape the arm of Balor over Zayn – and The Judgement Day wins.
Now, they hold the WWE Women’s World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE Tag Team Championships, NXT North American Championship, and the Money in the Bank briefcase. They are becoming the most dominant faction in WWE today, night by night.
