WWE Friday Night SmackDown continues. Dana Brooke takes on Naomi up next in a Women’s Money In The Bank qualifying match.

Dana Brooke vs. Naomi (Women’s Money In The Bank Qualifier)

Naomi with a roll-up, and then a crucifix cradle for 1 counts. Dana with an O’Connor Roll, Naomi reverses for a 1 count, dropkick for another quick cover, nailed pretty hard actually. Naomi wants a headscissor takeover out of the corner but Dana tosses her over the rope to the floor and now she’s trying to get a count out. Naomi trying to fight to her feet, Dana surprises her with a baseball slide. Takes her into the ring, cover for a 2 count. Body scissors cinched in. Dana is definitely working the heel in this match even though I don’t really think she’s meant to be otherwise.

Naomi back elbows her way free and bridges for another 2 count. Keeps trying to go for quick covers. Forearms, roundhouse kick nailed and then a Scorpion Kick of all things! Springboard Enziguri for a nearfall! Some nice kicks, hits the ropes, Dana scoops her up into a Sit-Out Powerbomb out of nowhere for a narrow nearfall! Handspring Back Elbow in the corner, snapmare, tries for the Handspring Moonsault but Naomi with the knees up! Rear View attempted but Dana ducks it and rolls-through for a nearfall, now the Rear View hits and it’s another nearfall! Naomi tries for a Split-Legged Moonsault but Dana rolls out of the way of it, sunset flip and there is the win!

    Winner: Dana Brooke

Wow. I would’ve thought for sure that Naomi would’ve won that, if nothing else then how they always love to have high fliers in there and she’s kind of the one to do it in the women’s division unless Ember Moon is healed up. Anyway some nice stuff there, actually reminds me of the Liv/Nattie match at Mania in that it was just tons of roll-up and flash pin attempts but one of them ended up getting the win so it felt worth it in the end.

Afterwards Dana Brooke goes out and hugs Michael Cole to celebrate, obviously overjoyed as it’s by far her most significant victory ever. Meanwhile Naomi is actually pouting, looking as sad as possible. We then see a replay of the Otis Dozovic/Mandy Rose/Dolph Ziggler love triangle and the eventual reveal of Sonya Deville’s involvement. Sonya and Mandy Rose will be having a confrontation up next.

I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
