The Rock has finally come back to WWE programming. On the latest episode of Smackdown Live, he would show up in the opening segment alongside Austin Theory and Pat McAfee.
This was a shock to everyone, and when his music hit – the roof nearly came off the building as a result of the surprise. The Rock would consider this one of the top five reactions in his career.
The Rock Was Blown Away By The Reaction Of WWE Fans In Denver
Taking to social media after his first WWE appearance since 2019 – The Rock had the following to say.
I was – I’m still – completely blown away by this crowd reaction in Denver this past Friday night on SMACKDOWN. My appearance was a — surprise to everyone and this crowd of 14,000 erupted with the roar of 100,000 strong.
Top 5 loudest crowd reaction of my career ——–
(which I was like “holy shit” when I walked out –)I’m so grateful and humbled by this. I never take it for granted and “coming home” will always be sacred to me.
Thank you my guy PatMac, the talented Austin Theory, WWE family backstage, Team Rock behind the scenes – everyone who joined us to go ALL IN.
But most importantly, thank you with all my love, gratitude and respect, to THE PEOPLE. Our connection is real. Electrifying.

The People’s Champ Needs Good Reason To Enter Another Match
Right now, it’s still unclear what fans can expect from this run from The Rock. He would recently appear on The Pat McAfee Show – stating that for him to have a match, it needs to be something new and exciting for his career.
A match with Roman Reigns was locked in for WrestleMania 39, but plans were forced to change. However, he remains open to facing his cousin – with WrestleMania 40 as a potential date. Reigns is currently off WWE programming with a back injury, and will return to the ring for an upcoming Saudi Arabia show in November.
