Last night on Monday Night RAW, former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal came back to TV. This return comes after Jinder ruptured his patella tendon in June of last year. He was able to instantly reestablish himself, demolishing Akira Tozawa in record time. Are we set for Jinder to have another run as a main event level talent?
Commentary Emphasized He Was A Former WWE Champion
While his run at the top might be a sore topic for fans of WWE, Jinder Mahal spent 170 days as WWE Champion. Winning the belt from Randy Orton at Backlash 2017, and losing it just before Survivor Series later that year to AJ Styles.
During his reign he defended successfully against Randy Orton twice, Shinsuke Nakamura twice, and prevented Baron Corbin from having a successful cash in of Money In The Bank. WWE hasn’t hide this fact, but in his return match, they really made sure no one forgot Jinder Mahal was a top star.
WWE Is Pushing Young Talent Heavily Right Now
While prior to Wrestlemania we had Goldberg & Brock Lesnar as top stars, things have quickly changed as Drew McIntyre & Braun Strowman are now the top champions, with only a few members of the old guard still around. We are still seeing people like Sheamus, Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy get attention, but they are mostly focusing on their new and popular stars. We have seen people like Andrade, Aleister Black, Apollo Crews, and more get more focus than ever before. Jinder Mahal is likely to join this group.
Will Jinder Mahal Be Added To Money In The Bank?
With Apollo Crews suffering a knee injury during his United States Championship match against Andrade on Monday Night RAW, there is now an open spot in the Men’s Money In The Bank ladder match. This spot will likely be decided in a match next week, and while a second chance match between Austin Theory, MVP and Buddy Murphy could be possible, we could also see Jinder Mahal get a chance to Climb The Corporate Ladder as well. Jinder winning Money In The Bank would ensure a clash between him and Drew McIntyre soon, which would once and for all show who was the real ace of 3MB.
