WWE Friday Night SmackDown continues. Backstage, Interviewer Girl #3 asks Otis and Mandy Rose about their upcoming matches and what’s gone on with them in the last few months. Mandy denotes that Sonya Deville is her FORMER friend before saying tonight she’s focusing purely on Carmella. Mandy says she’s got this, giving Otis a kiss on the cheek before she goes. He’s practically catatonic on contact.
Mandy Rose vs. Carmella (WWE Money In The Bank Ladder Match Qualifier)
Mandy with an immediate side headlock takedown, Carmella with a headscissor counter, Mandy kips up to break. Mandy hops over a sweep attempt but Carmella gets her with a body shot, snapmare and ‘Mella with a little dance already. Headlock, Mandy shoots her off, couple of leap frogs, back roll, Carmella surprises her with a thrust kick to the face for a 2 count! Arm wringer cinched in! Mandy fights to her feet, scoop and a slam for a 2 count, headlock applied. Sonya Deville’s music hits and she comes out on the stage to say she’s just here to support her, doesn’t want to distract her, tells her to do her thing. Mandy keeps the hold applied as Sonya goes on about how nostalgic she is about her friendship this time of year. Talks about how last year she outright gave up her Money In The Bank spot to Mandy. I actually remember that! Sonya rails on her for somehow still losing even after she practically hoisted her up the ladder herself! Says that’s real embarrassing, even more embarassing than losing to Carmella. ‘Mella breaks out and takes the advantage, headscissor in the corner. Mandy counters a charge with a punch as Sonya tells Mandy that karma’s a bitch, bitch and dares her to come down there. Finally it proves too big a distraction, Carmella nails her with a superkick and gets the pin!
Winner: Carmella
Well I thought Carmella would lose to help build to her heel turn but winning cheap works too. Afterwards, Sonya rushes the ring and attacks Mandy! She pounds on her and yells that Mandy will NEVER be better than her! Deville pulls her out of the ring and tosses her into the steel steps, charges and drives a knee into her back against the steel, brutal! Sonya had a pretty sick smile after that one. Afterwards she has to be restrained and is yelling that she’ll end Mandy, she’ll ruin her life. Sonya’s really quite the heel.
