WWE Monday Night Raw rolls on. We just saw AJ Styles make his surprise return to win the Last Chance Gauntlet match and earn his way into Money In The Bank. AJ gets on the mic afterwards and says yeah he got buried. So what? Doesn’t mean he lost. He did lose by the way. But AJ says there’s no rules in a Boneyard match. I guess by that he means there’s no way to win or lose, it’s not a real contest at all. Whatever. AJ says now he’s in the most unique Money In The Bank ladder match ever and it’s worth it. In fact… he’ll do anything to get that contract and if that means throwing Rey Mysterio or Aleister Black off the top of WWE HQ then so be it. Feels like in these promos they never acknowledge the fact that the other brand has wrestlers in these matches also, they just kind of ignore that. AJ does not expect to actually meet Daniel Bryan or Otis, probably isn’t even aware King Corbin’s in the match at all. After a break, we see Seth Rollins come out for a sit-down interview.
Charly Caruso asks him about Buddy Murphy’s match with Drew McIntyre later. Rollins says whatever will be will be. But he has the utmost confidence in his disciple Buddy Murphy. Charly asks him what he’ll do to combat the dominance of Drew McIntyre. Seth says that’s a good question because Drew is a dominant champion and an honorable man. But he’s said it before and he’ll say it again, he’s not a leader. This is not his destiny, it’s Seth’s. So what she’s really asking is how will he achieve his destiny? He knows Drew McIntyre will give him a hell of a fight. But he’s willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good.
Rollins knows that everyone thinks he’s trying to take something from Drew McIntyre but it’s not true. He says every generation, someone has a duty, to be the champion and represent them and take them into the next era. Seth says he’s not trying to crush Drew McIntyre’s dreams, he’s trying to save him and that is the absolute truth. At Money In The Bank, his destiny will become a reality when he stands in this ring with his hand held high and the announcement rings true: “And NEW WWE Champion… the Monday Night Messiah… Seth Rollins”.
