Yeah, we’re shameless, but how can anyone not be when there’s soap opera royalty in the house?
It’s hard to argue with the choice of Dallas alum Patrick Duffy as Stephen Logan, father to the bride of the hour, Katie Logan (Heather Tom).

She’s the one
It’s hard to argue with anyone that points to Katie and says she’s the one that stole Bill Spencer (Don Diamont)’s heart. Especially when her sister, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) is the real lub to Katie’s dub. Basically, Brooke brings out his wild side while Katie his good. Katie makes him want to be a better person, a good person. While he’ll always be rough around the edges and too blunt for many, for her, he always finds his grounding spot.
In return, he also gives her strength she may not have had otherwise, and it’s helped her through some tough times. They’re a perfect compliment to on another, making their bond as strong as the one Bill shares with Brooke. Maybe it’s a bloodline thing?
In that case, they get it from a good source.
Bobby the father
For those that don’t know or recognize him, Patrick Duffy played Bobby Ewing on Dallas. He may have been the best out of the three brothers, but his real claim to fame was an entire season after his unpopular demise was solved by labeling it all as a dream.
Not a bad way to fix a whoopsie, but “The Bold and the Beautiful” weren’t waiting to need that.
Walking Katie down the aisle was her father, Stephen Logan (Patrick Duffy).
Patrick gave the show an immediate depth and weight it didn’t have before despite its twenty-two years on the air at the time. He provided a link, a tether to an older show that ranks among the greatest of all time, primetime versus daytime not withstanding.
It could lead to some fans, CBS “The Bold and the Beautiful” Spoilers included, into making links between B&B and Dallas. Maybe even birth some fanfiction about Bobby Ewing having a second life away from the oil fields, funded by the Ewing fortune.
Or we could accept this for what it was: an awesome guest starring moment that was and is beyond cool for many of us.
