CBS “The Bold and the Beautiful” Spoilers haven’t been shy about our feelings of a week of weddings and lack of true classic episodes from before the last few years, but this is one we’ve been waiting for. Originally aired on January 5, 1991, this episode is centered around Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang)’s wedding that was anything but ordinary.
We’d grown accustomed to big splashes on daytime television on the various shows, so this one had to do something to set it apart more than it already had, and what better way to do so than with Forrester Style?

Substance and flash
It’s one thing to make a ceremony so big it’s sheer expensiveness is talked about for years to come (just look at how we can’t get enough of England’s royal family or celebrities), but this one was different.
One of the earliest weddings of the show, it set itself apart from those around it as Eric and Brooke not only said their vows, but did so with Eric’s ex-wife Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) and Brooke’s true love Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss). And yes, Ridge is Eric’s son. Talk about keeping it in the family, right?
With both exes, futures, or whatever we want to call them there, it was easy to expect something dramatic happened, and it did. Stephanie and Ridge remained quiet as their loved ones exchanged their vows and were married.
While this has been done on many shows to demonstrate a friend or family member’s support, there was something special about it here.
Bigger things to come
But as cool as that was, the way Eric and Brooke left for their honeymoon was simply the awesomest way to do so.
We’ve seen so many people run to airplanes, helicopters, limos, sports cars, motorcycles, and even scooters, but a hot air balloon? That’s something that’s truly epic as it mainly goes where it goes, with the operator having very limited control. It’s how balloons work
It was like Eric and Brooke put their destiny in the hands of fate and trusted it to guide their lives.
It added so much depth, though it may have not been on purpose, that it’s one that many fans, especially CBS “The Bold and the Beautiful” Spoilers still talk about nearly thirty years later.
In the end, our deeds are usually better remembered than our words or even appearance, and this is one that’ll last a lifetime and beyond if the fans have anything to say about it. After all, living vicariously through our favorite characters is something that often takes on a life of its own and has a power all its own.
