In WWE, there are some women who sadly get pushed to the side when it comes to the spotlight on shows like RAW & Smackdown. Two of those women who get a chance to shine on this weeks edition of Main Event, that being Kairi Sane & Ruby Riott. With the spotlight of the WWE Performance Center on them, would the the Pirate Princess or the Punk Rocker walk away with a much needed win?
Fast Paced Action From Sane & Riott
They would lock up the start the match, with the referee breaking them up at the ropes. Ruby would lock in a headlock on Kairi, only to have her wrist taken instead. To counter this, Ruby would pull the hair and force to the rope for another break from the referee. They would launch some of their signature strikes, with Ruby avoiding a spinning back fist and Kairi blocking a kick before they had a brief standoff, with Ruby stomping the foot to win that exchange. Sending Kairi off the ropes would be a mistake, as Ruby would be caught with a head scissors and a running neck breaker. Kairi would then scale the turnbuckle and hit a diving forearm for a near fall.
Looking to maintain control, Kairi would go for the submission, trying to choke Ruby out using her own arms. Ruby would fight to her feet, and perform a snapmare to get some distance, sending Kairi into the corner. Ruby would dash in, hoist herself up, catch the head of Kairi and deliver her signature ‘Deadly Nightshade’, sending the face of her opponent hard into the middle turnbuckle. She would maintain control with a Full Nelson on the mat, but Kairi would stomp the foot to force Ruby to release the hold. Ruby would be right back in control, grabbing the head of Kairi and slamming her face first into the corner again.
Kairi Sane Is Relentless
Dodging a kick from Ruby, Kairi would attempt a roll-up for a near fall, before finally hitting her spinning back fist. Some hard strikes in the corner would let Kairi walk the plank across the ring and hit The Sliding D forearm for a near-fall. Ruby would be in position for the Elbow Drop, but would get up and hit a Shotei to stun Kairi before joining her on the top rope. She would be thrown down, but come back again with an enzuguri to the face. Ruby would take her place on the top rope, and hit the diving senton for a near fall.
Ruby would make a slow climb back to the top, giving Kairi a chance get up, drag the head down by her hair and kick the face. An Alabama Slam would put Ruby in position for a diving elbow, and get Kairi the win.
This was a great showcase, and proves that both of these women should be involved in the hunt for the RAW Women’s Championship. Hopefully this win will give Kairi the momentum she needs to get some wins on Monday Night RAW. Do you think Kairi Sane should be a contender for Becky Lynch?
