Last week on WWE Main Event, Ruby Riott would go to war with Kairi Sane in a losing effort. Not one to simply sit aside and give up, she is back in action this week with the recent NXT call up of Bianca Belair. Would the EST of WWE fall victim to the Punk Rocker in their first ever singles clash, or will Riott’s losing streak continue?
Bianca Belair Slows The Pace To Start
Riott would start quick with a kick to the gut giving an early opening, taking to the waist. The strength of Belair would allow her to easily turn the tables on this situation, and let her throw Riott down to the mat. Belair would go to run the ropes, and Riott would do a quick drop down to try for an advantage, but would instead be caught in a side headlock. Riott would fight her way back to her feet, but would be taken down again. Always persistent, she fought her way back up once again and stomped the foot of Belair to break the grip of this headlock to twist her way out, only to end up trapped again. This time she would simply use the ropes to break the hold, and a quick back elbow would sweeten that deal.
Rushing in, Belair would be caught in a waist lock by Riott, only to shrug her off using the ropes. This would start to speed things up again, with Riott looking to gain control but instead eating a dropkick and being sent into the corner. Belair would do a top rope choke which would be counted by the official, with Riott being released at 4. She would then be kicked across the ring before getting nearly pinned.
Ruby Riott Makes A Comeback
While Bianca Belair might be the fastEST, strongEST, and in her mind the greatEST, confidence is no replacement for experience. A quick kick to the hand would change the complexion of the match, as now Riott had a target. She would focus her offense on the left hand & arm of Belair, wrenching it down and kicking it as Belair attempted to launch herself over Riott when thrown into the corner. Riott would go to the top rope to dive onto Belair, but would miss and land on her feet just in time to be hit by a spear. Unfortunately, she would use the left shoulder for the impact and would be unable to make the pinfall.
A dropkick would send Riott to the outside, before pummeling her with shots to the back using the right arm instead. Back in the ring, Riott would be lifted up by Belair and dropped with a Glam Slam which would be followed up with a springboard moonsault. Riott would grab the leg but be stomped down, and be hit with a moonsault before rolling onto the apron. Belair would once again have her left arm targeted, with it being stretched over the top rope. A kick to the arm followed by a Flatliner would get Riott a near fall. An STO would come next, for another near fall. Another attempt at the diving senton would find her stranded on the middle rope, allowing Belair to hit the KOD for the win.
This was another fantastic showcase match from the women of Monday Night RAW, and while Ruby Riott lost once again, she showed her worth. Belair won in the end, but it was a very close one.
