WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Backstage we speak to Angel Garza about what happened last night at Backlash with Apollo Crews retaining his title over Andrade. Angel is asked if he feels he cost Andrade the title. Zelina says nobody cost anybody. Angel explains he was just trying to help Andrade, he knows he must be hurting but when you care dearly about something or someone, you have to be able to let it go. He can’t imagine the heartbreak but he knows he’ll get over the disappointment. He feels for Andrade but we feel for Kevin Owens. Zelina says we feel for Owens because he’s inferior. Andrade comes up to Angel for a handshake and wishes him good luck in his match tonight. Hopes he beats Kevin Owens, but if he doesn’t, he hopes he gets over the disappointment.
This of course leads to Angel vs. Owens.
Angel Garza vs. Kevin Owens
Owens immediately takes control with some hard shots but Andrade’s music hits and he comes down to ringside to watch. The brawl continues, Owens rips off Angel’s pants and looks for a Stunner but he escapes. Hot shot to Owens, wants to slam his head into the turnbuckle but Owens reverses and sends him to the floor! He spills out right in front of Andrade and he yells at him to get back up. This kicks up an argument until Zelina Vega gets between them, yells about how sick she is of this and then storms away. This leads to a commercial break.
When we come back from break, Angel charges for a bronco buster like maneuver but Owens evades him and he crushes into the buckles! Owens wants a Cannonball but Garza evades this as well! Missile dropkick nailed for a 2 count! Owens fights back, series of shots, headbutt! Hits the ropes but Andrade trips his ankle! This distracts the ref as well though and Angel also gets upset for reasons, yelling at Andrade. He turns right around into a Stunner, Owens pins him and there’s the win.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Kind of a stupid finish but hey we’re making heels look dumb and that’s much more acceptable than with faces. Andrade yells at Angel how he just wanted to help him. Zelina rushes out and says they both want the same thing, they need to stop fighting against each other and start fighting together. She leaves and has them follow her but they do so from as far apart as possible. Maybe she’s gonna try and get them back into the tag scene.
