Chris Bey hasn’t been shy about his quest to win the X Division Championship from Willie Mack, and to do so he’s teamed with Johnny Swinger to help achieve that goal.
The problem with that is Willie Mack has gotten some help in the form of the Deaners. Cousin Jake teamed with Mack last week to beat Swinger and Bey in a tag team match. With the match over, Bey and Swinger attacked them and were in the process of dismantling the pair before Cody Deaner returned from his COVID-19 isolation in Canada.
With Cody’s help, the fought off Bey and Swinger and left Bey’s attempt to weaken Mack unfinished.
So, now Bey’s outnumbered, and he’s got to figure out what’s next.

Is Swinger the answer?
Johnny Swinger is as talented as they come, but is he really the answer for what Chris Bey wants done, or will he trade him in for another helper?
Given his near constant annoyed looks he gives Swinger, this may not be that far off. In fact, he could be looking for a reason to ditch Swinger after he wins or loses the X Division Championship. Swinger’s only saving grace is if Bey wins, he’ll need someone to watch his back, and who better than Johnny Swinger?
At the moment, Swinger is probably Bey’s best chance to win the title, but he’s going to need someone else to counter Cody Deaner joining the fray.
He could further use Swinger and his relationship with Madison Rayne to bring in more talent to help, or he could set out to recruit some like Madman Fulton, who is currently floating in limbo. He’d be the perfect one to counter Cody Deaner.
There’s also the chance that one of the alleged singings from WWE could join him at Slammiversary to secure the win.
But at some point, the check is going to come due and Bey will have to deal with everyone he’s used to reach his goal. The fact that Swinger and even Rayne don’t see that he’s using Swinger works to his benefit. Assuming Swinger isn’t using him with Rayne’s calling the shots.
Chris Bey’s ambition could be matched
While Swinger has had a good career, it’s reasonable to expect that he wants another shot at a championship, and he and Rayne could be planning that should Bey beat Mack for the X Division title.
If this is the case, we can expect Swinger to approach Bey good naturedly about having his shot at Bey’s championship. Bey will either laugh him off or turn his growing frustration at having to deal with Swinger on the potential challenger.
It’s doubtful Chris Bey would string Swinger along, so he’d probably turn on him as soon as the words were out of Swinger’s mouth. Depending on how things go, this could put Swinger over as a face and start a feud between the two.
That’s assuming Bey wins. If he doesn’t we won’t be surprised if he turns on Swinger anyway. Especially if Swinger fails to help him or somehow prevents him from winning the championship.
This is a slow build, but it’s going to pay off in the end. This is going to be a fun ride.
