Earlier today, we reported on Mustafa Ali being moved to Monday Night RAW, and he won’t be the only one leaving Smackdown Live. Reports are now showing that Former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler will also be making the move to Monday Nights once again.
This will likely be explained in storyline as RAW getting several Smackdown wrestlers in exchange for AJ Styles, and will also give more room for someone like Matt Riddle to breathe and become a star on the brand. Another way to explain his leaving is that he couldn’t bare to see Otis & Mandy Rose together, and realized he was unable to break them up.
Partnership With Bobby Roode Is Likely Finished
Due to COVID-19, we have not seen Bobby Roode in several months. He’s been stuck up in Canada, and unable to travel to WWE tapings. This was already something which put the partnership of Roode & Ziggler in jeopardy, but with Ziggler being sent to Monday Night RAW, this team is likely finished. What this means for the career of Roode is yet to be seen, but he has just as much potential as a singles star on Smackdown as he did in a tag team with Ziggler. He could easily become a contender for AJ Styles Intercontential Championship, with their past chemistry leading to great matches.
Dolph Ziggler Could Be A Challenger For WWE Champion Drew McIntyre
When McIntyre came up from NXT to join Monday Night RAW, he was aligned with Dolph Ziggler. They proved to be one of the best tag teams in recent memory, and had some absolute classics with Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley). McIntyre wouldn’t be in the tag division for long, and would break out on his own. This has worked out great for him, but someone as petty as Ziggler will be mad about this. He will likely feel he should have been the one to be shot back to world title success from their teaming, not McIntyre. Ziggler is not one to sit by and not voice his opinions, and is a reliable option for major feuds.
McIntyre lacked major challengers for his title after he finishes with Lashley, but adding Ziggler as a quick feud gives a chance to let Randy Orton finish his issues with Christian, or for WWE to build up another challenger.
