CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers here, ready to close out another theme week with some throwback spoilers. This has been a pretty fun week as we’ve gotten to see Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) in some of their best moments.
What makes it even better is we actually got a week with some continuity. Imagine, we finally had a series of episodes in a week where they shared more than a common theme or actor. Sure, we only got to see the highlights of the storyline, but we could piece it together a lot easier than jumping from one year to another randomly. It was a nice change of pace that CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers and others have been clamoring for.
Having four days where we understood how they were connected on a story level, we were bound to have one that wouldn’t fit. But it fit with another one we saw a few weeks back when Isabella Williams (Eva Longoria) had drugged Christine and pushed her under the water in her bathtub.

Nothing like waiting a few weeks to see the end of the storyline, huh? At least it came easier than digging for the episode online and praying someone shared it somewhere.
So, time to grab some snacks and drinks and settle in to enjoy this episode from August 5, 2003.
No such thing as foolproof
Every devious plan in these shows unravels when the killer, schemer, whatever they are decide to take the time to explain the whats and whys behind their plot. These monologues were never good for the bad guys in comics, but at least they were smart and dangerous enough to get away with it to a point. On daytime television, they generally fail in both of those categories.
Isabella might’ve gotten away with it had she not stuck around to gloat, but she did and being on the premises isn’t a good thing. Maybe these supposed bad guys should watch more police dramas.
Taking his cue from those shows, Paul raced to Cricket’s apartment by breaking the speed of light and all just they did in those shows. Unlike those shows, he doesn’t figure things out on his own or search the apartment properly.
He searched for Christine, his confusion growing when he couldn’t find her. He did eventually spot the flickering candle lights under the bathroom door, but decided he’d jumped to a conclusion. The answer? Making himself a drink, of course.
It was during this time that he figured it’d be a good idea to let Christine know he was there so she wouldn’t be scared when she came out of the bathroom to find him there.
Better to be lucky than good
This would mark the lone intelligent thing he did, and it was by accident. Sometimes, it’s better to be lucky than good, right?
He stumbled across Isabella at this time, and after asking her a few questions, she explained she was there looking for him, but found Christine had overdosed on sleeping pills and died.
Paul took that well, and by well CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers mean he hit Isabella, then raced into the bathroom. He fished Christine out, and though she was unconscious, she looked like she grabbed his shoulders to help him, but that could just be us seeing things.
As Paul tried to resuscitate her, Isabella was behind him and raised her knife to kill him. Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) arrived and grabbed her arm in time, then dragged her out of the bathroom.
Paramedics and the police arrived, and the former took over for Paul. They eventually, revived Christine, but it was close as she had visions of the happiest points in her life prior to spitting out her mouthful of water.
Isabella had a rougher time as the police didn’t believe a word of her story from being abandoned on an island to the current day. It got worse when Michael said he’d happily give his statement in the morning on how he witnessed her about to try to kill Paul
This is a cool ending to a fun week, and it has CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers wondering what’s in store for us next week.
