This is another potentially good match, but we feel it’s going to me more of a clustermuck as the whole reason for it is to promote Bayley and Nikki Cross’ match at Extreme Rules. While it makes sense that they’d want to promote the Smackdown Women’s Championship match, doing so at the constant expense of Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss just feel off. Especially when they already did this over the last couple of weeks.
However, there’s always the chance this will be the top flight match he hope to see, and that’ll put Cross over even more if they avoid a free for all again.
They’re more than capable of putting together a great match as they’ve done so before, and it’d be nice to se Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross wipe the smirks off the Golden Role Models’ faces with a sound thrashing.
Building to something special
Despite our complaint above about what we fear will happen, this has been a fun build to watch, and fans on social media have enjoyed if and Cross for the most part. She’s fun to watch and as likable and enjoyable as the best we’ve seen. It’ll be great to see her efforts earn her a championship. Assuming she wins at Extreme Rules, her unpredictability could be a concern as she tends to accept any and all challengers that approach her.
Still, it’ll be fun to see what comes from that, and as for tonight, he expect her to score the pinfall win over Bayley following a failed attempt to be disqualified by Bayley and/or Banks.
It’ll go a long way into continuing to build Cross up as well as put Bayley in a position where she’ll feel the pressure to prove she’s as good as she says she is.
Leaving nothing out
So far, we’ve seen just about every way Cross could get into Bayley’s head aside from appearing out of a hamper in her home and sacring the stuffing out of her.
Not that it hasn’t crossed WWE Creative’s mind at some point.
On Raw this week, Cross found every way possible to antagonize and distract Bayley during her Champion vs. Champion match with Asuka.
That’s by far the worst insult done to Bayley as the ending was still in doubt, and now we’ll have to hear plenty of excuses fly tonight leading up to, during, and throughout their tag team match.
A shame it’s not for the Women’s Tag Team Championship, isn’t it?
