Welcome to another Friday night and another WWE Smackdown! I’m your host, CP Bialois, and it’s great to see you all.
There’s potential for a fun show tonight, with a lineup that includes. a re-airing of Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt’s Money in the Bank match as well as Jeff Hardy appearing on Miz TV and some other goodies to enjoy..
Miz TV
We start out with the Miz and John Morrison are already in the ring, doing some dancing as they get ready for the start of Miz TV and their guest, Jeff Hardy.
As expected, Morrison and Miz alternate comments, with Miz being serious and Morrison cracking jokes, mocking Jeff Hardy.
The Charismatic Enigma comes out to a quieter enhancement talent crowd than usual. Most likely due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
To start, the Miz apologized for Morrison’s comments, but Morrison didn’t. Then there was a brief debate over showing a clip before Jeff told them to go ahead.
It’s a pretty good video overall and covered Jeff and Sheamus’ rivalry this far, including match highlights and last week’s toast.
With the clip over, Miz and Morrison continue mocking Jeff, saying he didn’t come out of that as a winner.
Jeff said he was about to break something, but Miz calms him by saying he’s his daughter’s favorite superstar, and then he adds he doesn’t want his daughter worshiping someone with his demons.
Jeff points out it’ll take more than Sheamus to get him to go back to his dark places. He admits Sheamus does matter and he needs to destroy him to put his past behind him.
He intends to be a beacon of light for anyone that struggles with addiction day to day.
The Miz pints out that Jeff needs to fight Sheamus in a bar fight, to face his physical and metaphysical enemies together.
Jeff points out the Miz put them up to this, and states he’ll never go back to where he was and will take Sheamus out on their bar fight. He promises never to let anyone down again.
Jeff then attacked Miz and Morrison despite them saying they expected to be able to mock him without expecting to be punched in the mouth. Looks like we’re heading to a match.
Jeff Hardy vs. The Miz
Back from commercial, Jeff Hardy and the Miz are in a match, with each using some old school holds before Miz tripped Jeff on the apron to gain the upper hand.
Jeff counted a backdrop attempt with a kick, but Miz took back the momentum with a knee to the face for a near pinfall.
Jeff continued to fight back, but Miz maintained control until Jeff caught him off the top rope with a Twist of Fate. As Jeff climbed to the top rope, Morrison pulled Miz out of the ring, so Jeff hit them both with a splash.
We come back from the commercial with Jeff in complete control as he’s running Miz from one corner to another.
Morrison pulled Jeff off the ropes when the referee wasn’t looking, and Miz took control after ramming Jeff into the barrier.
Miz continued with Miz kicks and some Jeff mocking while Morrison led the few cheers outside.
Jeff caught Miz off the ropes with a kick, but Miz countered a Twist of Fate into a DDT for another near pinfall.
A series of Yes Kicks led to another near pinfall, but Jeff once again kicked out.
Jeff hit with a jawbreaker to buy himself some time.
Jeff gets to his feet first and unloads his typical offensive moves on Miz, but they’re not enough to finish the Miz.
Miz nearly hit with a Skull Crushing Finale, but Jeff rolled him up for another near pin.
Sheamus then interrupted the match via the titantron to talk about the beer he’s drinking.
Miz tried to take advantage of the distraction, but Jeff rolled him up for the pin.
Nothing that wasn’t expected, but at least it was a good match.
