WWE Smackdown came back from commercial with Lacey Evans ramping up her heelness by promising “After tonight, Naomi’s glow with be a little sparkle.”
To start off, Naomi used a drop toe hold to gain the upper hand, and she followed it with a slap before Evans countered and hit with an elbow over the ropes for a near pinfall.
Naomi got her knees up to counter a splash, then hit with a spit splash for a near fall.
Naomi countered a Woman’s Right into a near full nelson, but Evans slipped away. Evans then tied Naomi’s hair around the second rope to but some time.
When Naomi got free, Evans hit her with a Woman’s Right for the pinfall.
Sheamus offers his help
WWE Smackdown goes backstage for an interview with Jeff Hardy.
Charley pointed out how Sheamus has tormented him since his return and asked why Jeff agreed to play Sheamus’ game.
Jeff said you can’t run away from an addiction, and while it’s a risk for him to walk into a bar to face Sheamus, it’s one he has to take.
When asked who he things will win between Riddle and Styles, Jeff pointed out that thanks to Sheamus setting him up to take the blame for running over Elias, he can’t compete for a WWE Championship.
And Sheamus hit him from behind, then took a seat on the floor next to a moaning Jeff Hardy.
Sheamus told him he couldn’t run, hide, or with his demons away, but he’s there to help cleanse him of his demons and promised to see him on WWE Smackdown next week.
Um…
Nikki Cross has had enough
WWE Smackdown came back from commercial to find Bayley and Sasha Banks backstage where they’re congratulated by Charley, and asked if it’ll continue on Sunday. Bayley then explained the definition of momentum and how she has more than Nikki Cross.
Banks added it’s destiny for them to win all of the gold. Bayley then added that Cross should go back to being a chimney sweep.
Cross and Bliss were talking and Cross was upset at losing, and how she doesn’t like Alexa Bliss seeing her lose every week and her confidence is shaken.
Bliss tried to reassure her, but Cross heard Bayley and Banks laughing as attacked Bayley from behind.
Cross managed to pull her away as Bayley yelled she needed to put a leash on Cross.
They then replayed Aj Styles and Matt Riddle’s promos from the beginning of the show before going to commercial. Looks like someone fell asleep at the switch.
