Impact Wrestling started fast with Willie Mack invoking his rematch clause following his lost to Chris Bey at Slammiversary.
X Division Championship – Chris Bey (c) vs. Willie Mack
Bey started it off fast with a drop kick and cover as soon as the bell rang, but Willie Mack kicked out. It didn’t matter as Bey continued to beat on Mack, trying to end things early.
Mack used Bey’s aggression against him by rolling him over and peppering Bey with strikes until the two separated. On their feet, the pair exchanged blows until Mack gained the upper hand and knocked Bey down.
Desperate, Bey pulled Mack into the ropes, causing Mack to hit them with his throat before he rolled outside the ring. With his opponent hurting, Bey tried to gain the upper hand by leaping over the ropes.

Mack caught Bey’s crossbody block attempt, and after holding him for a few seconds, slammed him to the floor with a loud thud, then threw him back in the ring.
Back in the ring, Bey sidestepped Mack’s double knee attack, and Mack hit the turnbuckles instead, and Bey nearly scored another pinfall but Mack kicked out.
Keeping on the pressure
Bey kept the pressure on with a reverse chin lock, and Mack appeared to fade and his arm dropped twice before Mack held it up partway down on the third attempt. He then powered out of the hold.
Bey regained the upper hand and mocked Mack by doing a quick rap and then trying to his with mack’s own standing moonsault. Mack rolled out of the way and Bey missed.
An incensed Mack went after Bey and tried to hit a stunner, but Bey fought out of it. But coming off the ropes, Mack hit him with an uppercut and climbed to the top rope to end it.
Bey rolled out of the way of Mack’s Six Star Frog Splash. Bey then spring boarded off the ropes and hit Mack with a cutter for the pin.
A great way to start off the night, Chris Bey successfully defended his X Division Championship.
These two never disappoint, and it should be interesting to see what’s next for Willie Mack and Chris Bey. Both are extremely talented and fun to watch, and their chemistry is off the charts.
If there’s one thing we’ve come to expect out of Impact Wrestling, it’s how they dive right into the action instead of wasting time talking.
