WWE Raw Preview (7/27) - Drew McIntyre’s Stipulation for his and Dolph Ziggler’s Rematch

WWE Raw is going to be the land of paybacks when it comes to this match. At Extreme Rules, Dolph Ziggler’s stipulation put everything in his favor and nearly won him the WWE Championship.

Drew McIntyre had to wait until right before the match started to find out what Ziggler planned, and the result was Ziggler could wrestle under Extreme Rules (hardcore everything goes) and McIntyre standard rules.

Add to it that McIntyre could’ve lost the championship on count out or disqualification only added another layer of drama to the match, and put plenty of doubts in fans’ minds.

But McIntyre prevailed, and Ziggler came out last week and demanded a rematch. McIntyre refused and was about to leave when Ziggler tossed out a caveat that couldn’t be ignored.

    McIntyre closes the feud out

Ziggler made a huge mistake by handing McIntyre the opportunity to name his own stipulation, and McIntyre won’t do it until right before his match with Ziggler on this week’s WWE Raw.

This appears to be a non-title match, so it means we can expect McIntyre to beat the living stuffing out of Ziggler without fear of losing his title.

We expect McIntyre’s stipulation to be a mirror image of Ziggler’s just because he wants to inflict some pain.

This also should close out their feud as there’s no where else for them to go besides gimmick matches, and we were sure Robert Roode would’ve appeared at Extreme Rules.

But leaves open the question as to who McIntyre will face at SummerSlam.

The WWE cannot go into one of their biggest pay-per-views with a gimmick match or a proven unexciting match like McIntyre and Ziggler.

We’re not saying they won’t, but they shouldn’t.

    Who’s next?

This is a great question and one that’s going to have everyone guessing until it happens. We said last week we believe it’ll be Randy Orton as he’s out of Legends unless they’re going to have him continue running through the retirement ranks of WWE.

To us, it makes sense that Orton would go after the biggest current legend in the Chosen One, Drew McIntyre. It’d be the big time match the WWE needs at SummerSlam, but it’d also be an awesome match between the two.

But if not Orton, then who?

    How about Seth Rollins?

Sure, McIntyre already kicked him to the curb, but we expect Rollins to be “reborn” after sacrificing Aleister Black’s right hand last week, and Humberto Carrillo isn’t quite there yet and we don’t want to se another Rollins-Owens feud

But Owens is still there as is Carrillo, so maybe they’ll stay with Rollins. Should be interesting to see what comes of it all tonight on WWE Raw.
