Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s WWE Smackdown Live Results and Recap!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and it looks like we could have an interesting night ahead of us.
Segment 1
A series of promos started the show, and Bray Wyatt said he can’t find Strowman. He added that Strowman has somehting the Fiend wants, and until he gets it, no one is safe.
Intercontinental Championship – AJ Styles (c) vs. Gran Metalik is next.
Segment 2
The match started slow as Styles wanted to control the pace, but Metalik threw Styles into teh abrrie via a hurricanrana as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
Style remained in control, working on Metalik’s left leg, but Metalik had a couple of near pinfalls when he surprised Styles.
Style won by submission after rolling Metalik up and locking in the Calf Crusher.
Style then his Lince Dorado with a Styles’ Clash to send a message.
King Corbin attempted to recruit Shorty G into going after Matt Riddle, and Gabble looked like he was thinking about it.
Segment 3
Jeff Hardy gave a speech about how conquering Sheamus reminded him how his demons are always there.
King Corbin came out to call him a whiner and was attacked from behind by his opponent tonight, Drew Gulak. Guess what’s next?
Segment 4
Drew Gulak vs. King Corbin.
A decent match was interupted by Matt Riddle’s entrance, but Corbin hit with an End of Days for the pin.
Riddle then attacked him, but Shorty G came our and hit Riddle with a rolling German suplex. Looks like Shorty G turned heel as he lef the ring with Corbin.
Segment 5
Big E vs. The Miz (w/Morrison)
This is a pretty good match so far as Big E controlled most of the action aside from some interference by Morrison.
Big E missed with an elbow on the apron as we headed to commerical.
Segment 6
A good match ended when Big E picked up the Miz in a stretch hold that made him submit. Big E survived several attacks by Morrison to pull out his first singles win.
Segment 7
Sheamus annoucned Jeff Hardy is no longer his problem. Instead, sheamus if now the Smackdown Roster’s problem.
Lacey Evans vs. Naomi
A mediocre match where Evans completely dominated saw Naomi win after she ducked a Woman’s Right and rilled Evans up for the pin.
Otis and Mandy Rose made their first appearance in weeks, as Rose teased a dinner with a “peach sundae” with whipped cream and a cherry on top.
Sonya Deville walked into view when they left.
Segment 8
An psychotic Deville attacked Mandy Rose, covered her face in makeup and then cut her hair before officials made her leave.
Miz and Morrison appeared and made hair cut puns.
Did they rehire Vince Russo?
Segment 9
WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship Bayley (c) (w/Sasha Banks) vs. Nikki Cross (w/Alexa Bliss)
THe match started off fast with Nikki Cross more aggressive than we’ve seen her before.
She was in control as we headed to comemrcial.
Segment 10
The best match of the ngiht saw several near pinfalls before Bayley drop Niki’s face into the mat for the win.
After the match was over, a frustrated Cross knocked Bliss over.
Alone in the ring, the Fiend appeared and slowly circled her before he locked his mandible claw on Bliss to close the show.
The show itself was hit or miss, but the ending left goosbumps considering the role Bliss’ image played in the Swamp Match.
Instead, Wyatt’s words came true. No one is safe from teh Fiend until he gets back the Universal Championship. Expect all of Strowman’s friends to be attacked until the Monster Among Men returns.
