WWE Raw’s previously top storyline just won’t go away, but it may end up being a good thing.
After last week’s attack on Dominic Mysterio, Seth Rollins and Murphy have extended their roles of putting the fresh talent over through SummerSlam at least.
While it’s been a semi-steady rise for Dominic, though it also feels hesitant at times.
And given the announcement Rollins made last week that Rey Mysterio is expected to make a full recovery, as well as rumors Rey and the WWE are close to a contract deal, it makes us wonder how long this will continue?
Really, there is no ending this until Rey or Dominic rip out one or both of Rollins’ eyes This is a tricky corner WWE creative and Vince McMahon have written themselves into.

Perfect ending at SummerSlam
There is a way to bring things to a satisfying conclusion without having to pull out more c-rated horror movie tricks.
This year marks fifteen years since Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero fought over custody of Dominic at SummerSlam, and this would be a perfect time to end this feud.
Or kick it to keep it moving.
It would make sense for Dominic and Rollins to have a match at SummerSlam as it’d be perfect for poetic justice as Dominic would be fighting to avenge his father like Rey had previously fought for him.
Of course, the WWE could use this as a way for Rollins to beat, kidnap, and turn Dominic on Rey in a slight alteration of that match fifteen years ago.
This would send the feud to the moon for some, while also locking it in in perpetuity for many of us wanting some kind of resolution to this.
Cutting it short
There is a problem with cutting this storyline off at SummerSlam and that’s it has plenty of potential left.
Despite many of us growing tired of this storyline, there is plenty of room for it to continue on. The trick will be how to make it interesting.
Aleister Black is one way, but with his injured arm is he really a threat? Humberto Carrillo seemed to be an afterthought recently and was dispatched as one, so his role in this feels weakened.
That leaves Dominic and potentially Rey once he’s “medically cleared” to compete one again.
If nothing else, we’ll get to see what Dominic is capable of, and Rollins can only bring the best out of him if they’re allowed to put together a match that’ll work for them.
We definitely think Dominic and Rollins will have a match finalized for SummerSlam despite Dominic’s inexperience.
Looks like it may be time to see if he’ll sink or swim.
