Shane McMahon returning is something the WWE just let out a few hours ago, and there’s a reason we’re linking them together for tonight’s WWE Raw.
The WWE announced that Shane McMahon will be returning to WWE Raw tonight, which is coincidental since his sister, Stephanie McMahon, made a mess of the Raw Women’s Championship a couple of weeks back.
Piggybacking on this announcement was also that a new faction is arriving, and this got us to thinking of the old Corporation faction.
But this feels different while the same, since Vince McMahon was reported as saying people deserved better characters and storylines recently, and with their shows setting records for low ratings, this feels like a jumpstart attempt.
JustUs (Standing)
Also in the news, the WWE recently trademarked Justus, so we’re thinking either Sid Justice is coming back in some way or the faction will be called JustUs and we have a few member ideas to toss out there.
First, we’re sure Shane and/or Stephanie will be part of this in some way as the figure head or leader.
Then they’ll need a solid youngster say Dominik Dijakovic who was said to be going to Raw at some point around nowish.
Throw in a strong tag team like the Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake), and it looks like a solid team, and pretty similar to what Shane had on Smackdown with Dijakovic as his enforcer in place of Drew McIntyre.
The only thing that’s missing is a bonafide top star and a respected elder to help guide everyone.
In this, we can see Randy Orton and Ric Flair joining the group to further make their mark.
But this is only speculation.
Taking over
Shane McMahon is awesome and fun to watch, and he comes across as a spoiled, entitled son of a billionaire, which is the plan.
But we have a different idea.
We’re thinking this could be an attempt at taking over the WWE like the nWo (New World Order) in WCW or the WCW/ECW Invasion angle from 2001.
This time, we don’t see it becoming anything as large as those groups because the WWE roster is split and it just wouldn’t make sense unless Shane’s getting WWE Raw to play with.
The problem is this is definitely going to be a “here we go again” storyline, but the WWE and other promotions are just trying to survive at this point, so we’ll see if it boost their ratings.
Oddly enough, many will probably tune WWE Raw in to see what’s going on and poke fun at Shane, never realizing they’re doing what McMahon hopes.
This is going to be an interesting night.
