Hello, everyone, and welcome to this week’s WWE Smackdown Live Results and Recap!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and we’re excited for what looks like a fun night ahead of us.
There’s still plenty of time, so grab some snacks and drinks, and we’ll meet back here at 8 p.m. EST when the show starts.
Segment 1
A Firefly Fun House segment opens the show and Wyatt said the Fiend will be there later with Bliss and promised that Strowman better give the Fiend what he wants.
Curioulsy, we’re wondering if Bliss will betray Strowman if he shows up?
Matt Riddle vs. Sheamus
A slower paced macth started off pretty good with them exchanging holds before Sheamus was knocked out of the ring before the commercial break.
Segment 2
A great match ended with a disqualification when Shorty G attacked Riddle outside of the ring.
Riddle knocked Gable senseless, and then Sheamus hit Gable with a pair of Brogue Kicks for robbing him of the victory for King Corbin’s bounty.
Segment 3
The DIrt Sheets with Miz and Morrison was… interesting as they did a mock interview of a wig until Sonya Deville came out.
Insults flew and Heavy Machinery (Otis and Tucker) ran out and cleared the ring.
Segment 4
Cesaro vs. Lince Dorado was a solid match that Cesaro mostly ontroled before wininng.
The Fiend then came out to the ring to wait for Braun Strowman.
Segment 5
An intense segment had the Fiend and Alexa Bliss in the ring. Strowman appeared on the titantron sounding as evil as Bray Wyatt and claimed he didn’t care about Alexa.
He only wants to destory Wyatt, and granted him a match at SummerSlam is Wyatt’s brave enough to face the Monster.
Segment 6
Jeff Hardy vs. King Corbin ended in a disqualification when Sheamus came down and hit Jeff with Brogue Kick, then challenged Corbin.
The referee got between them as we headed to commerical. Triple Threat upcoming?
Segment 7
King Corbin vs. Sheamus was a solid match between two bulls that ended after Riddle distracted Corbin so Sheamus could hit with a Brogue Kick for the win.
Segment 8
Stephanie called the Golden Role Models out for making a mockery of her stipulation, and said Banks will defend her title at SummerSlam, opponent to be determined.
Next week, a 3 brand battle royal will determine Bayley’s Smackdown opponent for her title.
Segment 9
Miz and Morrison (w/Sonya Deville) vs. Heavy Machinery
This match started with a gimmicky feel, and Tucker and Otis looked like they channeled the Bushwackers prior to going to commercial.
Segment 10
The match settled down into a pretty good one, but the referee called for the bell when Mandy Rose came out and attacked Sonya Deville.
Will it continue?
Segment 11
Nope, the new mysterious faction entered the arena and chased out everyone in the ring. They spraypainted a W in a cirlce and a line through it on the plexiglass and graffittied the rest of the ring.
They even cut the ring ropes with a chainsaw.
Well, we thought this would be a cool show, and we were wrong. Like Raw, this was just… strange.
They’re definitely channeling the riots going on for this. This could come back to bite them at some point.
