WWE Raw Preview has noticed things in the WWE Raw Women’s Championship chase is beyond messy at the moment, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better any time soon.
Once again, a McMahon stepped into the in ring action and stirred up a mess pot rather than simply lay down the law and allow great matches to ensue.
This time, it was Stephanie McMahon (with her father’s blessing no doubt) to step into the WE Raw Women’s Championship rivalry between Sasha Banks and Asuka, and boy did she step in it.
Asterisk title reign
Following one of the worst ending we’ve seen in a while, Banks won the title by count out after Asuka ran off to help her friend, Kairi Sane, as Bayley beat her backstage.
While it’s propelled Banks into the leadership role of the Golden Role Models, it hasn’t done anything else for the storyline.
And when Banks volunteered Bayley to face Asuka to prevent the Empress of Tomorrow from getting a rematch at SummerSlam, WWE Raw Preview expected it.
Asuka to win
So, we’re looking at Asuka almost having to win tonight to face Banks, other the Raw Women’s Championship losses all credibility to fans.
At least, we’re sure Asuka will win, mainly for the reason we just stated.
We expect a great match between Asuka and Bayley as they always bring their A game, and it will most likely end with Banks trying to help Bayley win and instead costing Bayley the match.
This will be the worst case scenario for Banks as she really doesn’t want to face Asuka again since she was soundly beaten last time when Asuka left the ring.
Then there’s the off chance (more like 50/50 in the WWE) that Bayley will win, and since Stephanie said Banks will defend her title at SummerSlam, this could be their way of finally starting a Banks/Bayley rivalry.
Though Bayley probably won’t be in any condition for another match, depending on who win the three-brand battle royal. Oh, and we’re calling the battle royal will be Tessa Blanchard’s WWE debut.
No reason, it just feels reasonable.
On the plus side, though Shayna Baszler said she’d prefer to tear Asuka apart, seeing her annihilate Banks would please plenty of fans, so that could be the match we’ll get if Asuka loses to Bayley.
