NXT Takeover XXX is getting ever closer, but there are still two episodes of NXT TV between us and that huge show. The card is still forming, with Dakota Kai vs. Io Shirai & Adam Cole vs. Pat McAfee being the only fully announced matches. What does NXT have in store for us this week?
Cameron Grimes & KUSHIDA Meet A Mystery Opponent
In the final triple threat match to decide an entrant into the NXT North American Championship ladder match for Takeover XXX, Cameron Grimes & KUSHIDA are the two announced names. While both men could win, they don’t know who will join this match. Names like a returning Tomassao Ciampa, someone like Kevin Owens making a full return to the brand, and others have all been teased.
Whoever doesn’t take the fall in this match will get a chance in a singles match against either Ridge Holland, Finn Balor, and Johnny Gargano, so we could see someone like Grimes take a shortcut to an easier shot.
Danny Burch Meets Karrion Kross
Karrion Kross wanted to send a message to NXT Champion Keith Lee, and he did so by choking out most of the NXT locker room. He decided that one of the men would be the double tough brawler, Danny Burch. This means that Burch will look for revenge, and while he’s not projected to win this match, he won’t go down without a fight.
This match will likely push us closer to Keith Lee vs. Karrion Kross at NXT Takeover XXX, a match that everyone knows is coming anyways, but has not been formally announced yet. Karrion Kross has refused to challenge Keith Lee to his face, but Lee might just march to the ring after this match and confront Kross himself.
Also announced for this show is Tyler Breeze vs. Santos Escobar, Damien Priest vs. Bronson Reed was teased, and another look into the Gargano Household with the debut of their dog.
