At NXT Takeover XXX, Dakota Kai will face Io Shirai for the NXT Women’s Championship. However, it never hurts to tune your skills, so tonight we will see her in action. Her opponent would be Jessi Kamea, can they get an upset win over Kai and shoot herself into the title picture?
Jessi Kamea Isn’t Going To Go Down Easy
As soon as the bell would ring, Kai would be on the offensive with a double leg takedown and some strikes. This level of aggression would stick, with Kamea having her head slammed into the mat and would be choked on the ropes. The captain of Team Kick would nail some big running kicks in the corner and get a near fall.
A straight jacket choke in the middle of the ring would almost force a submission, but Kamea has no quit. She’d rally back and get a near fall off a low spin kick, and a big spinebuster would get an even closer pinfall attempt. Go To Kick would come after Kai got back to her feet, ending this one early.
It wasn’t as easy a fight as she expected, but Kai gets a bit more momentum heading into NXT Takeover XXX.
Dakota Kai Gets Into A Brawl With Io Shirai
Following the match she’d grab the microphone and say Io is out of her mind. Io thinks Kai is afraid of her, but she’s too focused on Kai’s past. Kai is focused on her future, and that starts with her taking the NXT Women’s Championship on Saturday. She’s going to kick Io in the face until she can’t get back up.
Io had heard enough and would rush the ring, and a brawl would ensue. It wouldn’t last in the ring for long, but just as things looked bad for Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez made her way to the ringside area and booted her down. The two on one advantage would be too much for the NXT Women’s Champion, who’d be powerbombed in the middle of the ring.
