Last night at Clash Of Champions, Roman Reigns proved he is the Tribal Chief. He was ready to beat Jey Uso to a bloody pulp, only stopping due to Jimmy Uso hobbling to the ring and throwing in the towel for his brother. Family no longer matters to Reigns, but this new dismissive tone might bring someone great back for one final match.
The Rock Didn’t Even Watch Their Match
While you would think this family brawl would pull in just about everyone alive on the Anoa’i family tree, one man wasn’t watching. This was Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who made this known through a comment on Roman Reigns instagram account. He’d comment ‘Same game, different levels. Same hell, different devils. Heard you two tore the house down.’
Given how Reigns has been an absolute monster of late, and just pummeled a cousin he grew up with into the mat, it’s not hard to see him taking some shots at The Rock over this disrespect.
This Match Would Make Roman Reigns Into A Full Megastar
Over the past few weeks, Roman Reigns has done more for his career than the last few years had previously managed. However, he needs that one big victory to get him to the next level. This should have been his victory over Brock Lesnar at Summerslam 2018, but that sadly got derailed by his battle with leukemia. It could have been his victory over Goldberg at this year’s Wrestlemania, but he stepped out due to COVID-19’s looming threat.
While the Goldberg match might still happen, it would be small in comparison to facing another family member in The Rock. Rock has transcended professional wrestling to become one of the biggest actors of all time, and is a giant in mainstream media. Reigns beating him would make headlines, and get his name out there. This would make an excellent Wrestlemania main event, especially when they finally make it to Hollywood for it. It would mean Rock no longer closes out his career by beating Erick Rowan, but it might be worth it for one last big match preceeded by a well deserved Hall Of Fame induction.
