This is a match that has the potential to reach a new level of brutality as Impact Wrestling Victory Road’s main event.
Eric Young has been on a run of trying to end wrestlers’ careers since he returned to Impact Wrestling at Slammiversary.
After nearly ending Rich Swann’s career, Young turned his attention to Edwards and the Impact World Championship Young coveted.
It was a brutal display, and it sidelined Edwards for a couple of weeks but he’s intent on destroying Young whether he has one good leg or two.

It’s personal
Edwards had to force Scott D’Amore into allowing this match, and D’Amore gave him his blessing to end Eric Young.
This came after D’Amore tried to talk Young down following an assault on the Deaners. Young was about to beat down D’Amore and possibly do worse when Eddie Edwards ran into the ring to prevent that.
With everything set for this weekend’s Victory Road, Edwards is going to give his all to take down Young.
Unfortunately, we don’t think he’ll succeed.
While it’d be a cool storyline to have Edwards win back the Impact World Championship, it won’t be as cool as Rich Swann facing Eric Young for the title and payback.
It’s a double edged sword that has the potential to send Bound For Glory into the stratosphere.
It’s unfair to Edwards, who really lays it on the line night after night and is a great story in himself.
But they’ve built up Swann and Young’s matchup to the point we think taking the title off of Young now would do more harm than good.
Of course, it’s only our opinion and we could be wrong. Impact Wrestling has been firing on all cylinders lately, so we’re not going to second guess them.
Edwards Unhinged
With that being said, Edwards could still win and not get the title, and that would be through a disqualification.
We expect Edwards to seek to end Young rather than win the championship, so he’ll do everything he can to do just that.
Since, after all, is Young can’t defend his championship it’ll become vacant for another tournament or gauntlet to win it.
With Edwards going on the attack, we expect him to go totally crazy and destroy Young with any and everything he can get his hands on.
Young will be a battered mess by the end of the match, but win or lose, he’ll still have the championship.
However they work it, we expect this to be the best match of the night, but it’s going to be challenged by a few others as any of them can steal the show at Victory Road.
