The first steps towards the Survivor Series PPV were made last night, as the first three superstars that would be representing Raw at the event were revealed. These superstars would be representing Team Raw in the traditional tag team match against SmackDown.
It was also seemingly revealed that there would be no NXT involvement at Survivor Series this year, as the commentators kept referring to the opponents as only SmackDown. The first three superstars that will be representing Raw were revealed as Keith Lee, Sheamus and AJ Styles. But, which superstars could join them on the team?
WWE News: Braun Strowman
One of the favourites that could be set to join team Raw is Braun Strowman. It will be a smart way to continue the story between Strowman and Lee, with one of the two men costing the team during the match. Strowman wasn’t on this week’s show, which means that his qualifying match could be taking place during next week’s show. He will likely come up against somebody like John Morrison or The Miz and claim a straightforward win.
Strowman needs to be involved in the match this year, as it will allow his story with Lee to continue in a huge match. He hasn’t had the best yet in 2020, but this rivalry with Lee could ensure that he ends this calendar year with a newsworthy feud that has captured the imagination of the fans.
WWE News: Drew McIntyre
It was revealed during the show last night that McIntyre was chosen by Orton for a re-match. That was largely down to the fact that the Viper wasn’t in favour of a reunion with Bray Wyatt so soon after being crowned champion. It was a bizarre ending to the show, and there is a confusing yet enjoyable main event scene now with so many questions.
Survivor Series will not be when McIntyre gets his rematch as it was revealed that Orton will be squaring off with Roman Reigns in a champion vs champion match. That means that we could see McIntyre end up joining Raw to help the team with their short-term aim. However, there could still be another twist in the story, as McIntyre and Orton may eventually have their re-match on an episode of Raw before Survivor Series. But, it’s unlikely that Orton will drop the title so soon after winning it.
