Curt Stallion turned a lot of heads when he would become the number one contender for WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Santos Escobar. This past week on NXT, he was beat down in the parking lot by Santos Escobar, but that won’t stop him from finishing some business on 205 Live.

Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese have been a thorn in his side since the very start, and he’d love to move past them. Daivari on the other hand, put it best on Twitter ahead of this match. “I’m gonna beat this hillbilly’s ass, and send him back to the trailer park in Texas where he belongs.” Stallion replied and remained cool as a cucumber, reminding Daivari that he lived in a house, Crane is a flat town, but either way, “those’re fightin’ words”.

Can the 205 Live original deliver on this promise, or will Stallion keep his win streak up?

    Stallions Shouldn’t Take Flight

Daivari would win the opening lock up and get the wristlock, and use that to wrench on the left arm of Stallion, the injured one from Wednesday’s attack. Stallion came back with a wrist lock of his own, before being taken to the mat and hit with a knee to the arm. Daivari got a sunset flip, but only got a one count.

In the corner, Daivari threw some heavy strikes, but missed a chop and took some from Stallion instead. Stallion threw Daivari into the ropes, but Daivari caught them and fled to the outside. This escape failed, as Stallion just came out and hit a big headbutt before throwing Daivari into the barricade.

Back in the ring, Daivari went for another sunset flip, but Stallion rolled through and got the double stomp. Daivari fled to the outside again, but this time was able to dodge the low suicide dive, with Stallion landing hard on the outside. A crafty veteran like Daivari knows that you take the count out win, but Stallion got back in at 9, just beating the count.

    Ariya Daivari Takes Advantage

As soon as he got back in the ring, Daivari would stomp him into the mat, before setting up a rope hung neckbreaker, but only got a two count. A chinlock would be applied, and Stallion had to fight back to his feet, only to be thrown chest first into the corner and hit with a full nelson setup reverse DDT.

Another toss into the corner saw Stallion able to counter Daivari with a boot to the face, but his advantage was short lived before taking a neckbreaker. The camel clutch would be applied, but again Stallion fought out. They’d trade strikes in the middle of the ring, before both decided to hit the ropes and go for crossbodies forcing a double down.

Both men would struggle back to their feet, but Stallion was able to hit a signature strike combo, the knee lift into the rolling forearm. He’d pull Daivari into the corner and hit the big boot, a knee strike would follow and be possessed by the fighting spirit of Katsuyori Shibata with the hesitation dropkick.

    Curt Stallion Is Legit

Stallion stomped the feet and hit the DDT out of the corner, but only got a two count. He’d go high risk again, this time going to the top rope only to get crotched. Daivari would go for the Hammerlock Lariat, but Stallion dodged. Thankfully the backup plan of the uranage worked out, but only got two.

Daivari went for a back suplex, and Stallion countered but ended up being hit with a superkick. He’d come right back with a neckbreaker pulled from the playbook of Kazuchika Okada, showing that Stallion has absolutely done his homework. A splash off the top rope would only get two.

Daivari sent Stallion to the apron to get a break, but instead was almost suplexed to the outside. He’d counter this with a stunner and hit a dropkick to send Stallion to the floor before bringing him back in for the splash. Daivari missed, and Stallion nailed a running headbutt for the win.

This was the best match yet from Curt Stallion, and his coming match with Santos Escobar should be even better. Are we looking at our next Cruiserweight Champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
