Big Swole Reveals Her Battle To Overcome Crohn’s Disease
That would explain why she has not been active lately, but there is an expectation that she will be returning soon. Her last performance was impressive as she grabbed a victory against Alex Garcia, and if she can return to that standard, then she can be a match on her day for anyone.
In a post to her fans on Twitter, Big Swole opened up on how 2020 had been a horrific year for her. She said: “As some of you may not know, Crohn’s attacks the body as a whole, so on top of my intestines issues, different body parts would lock up and become incapable of bending at the joints.
“Some days I could barely walk, and that took a toll on me emotionally and mentally. Living with this disease may seem like a thorn, and it is, but it also shows me that His grace is sufficient, and no matter what happens, I will smile because I am more than a conqueror.”
And things have not been helped by the onset of the pandemic. After all, covid has been deadly, in particular, to people who have underlying health conditions. Thus Big Swole felt uneasy at the thought of fighting one disease, with covid lurking in the background. She added: “I was informed that resuming my medicine for Crohn’s would result in death given the COVID-19 circumstances.
“Seeing as how the biologic I was on shuts down my immune system and acts as such, resuming my medicine was not an option. I was doing alright self-managing until the flare-ups started in the fall.” The adversity, however, has not dampened her spirits. Just as she is known for her fortitude in the ring, she possesses the same strength in her life.
Thus, she has promised to come back stronger, and who are we to doubt her. After all, the precedent has been set with Roman Reigns, who overcame Leukemia. She continued: “I am Swole, and that mentality/faith will carry me through it all.
