Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and this should be a fun one as it’s the Go Home episode for WWE Fastlane.
Not only do we have Nia Jax challenging Sasha Banks for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, but Edge and Jey Uso will face off to be the special enforcer for Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship match at WWE Fastlane.
With plenty of action, we’d better grab some snacks and buckle up for the ride. WWE Smackdown Live Results will be back and settled in for the 8 p.m. EST showtime.
Segment 1
Smackdown Women’s Championship – Sasha Banks (c) vs. Nia Jax w/Shayna Baszler and Reginald
The show started off a little different without the open 20 minute back and forths we’ve grown accustomed to and it’s a pleasant surprise.
Smackdown Women’s Championship – Sasha Banks (c) vs. Nia Jax w/Shayna Baszler and Reginald
Banks started strong, but Jax took over and had a couple of near pins when Belair came out to coach up Banks as we headed to commercial.
The fact she told Banks prior to the match she wasn’t going to help was apparently for show.
Segment 2
Banks fought back when Belair threw Baszler into the ring, and Baszler hit Jax with a knee after missing Banks.
Banks then used a jackknife pin to beat Jax. This was a good match until typical WWE shenanigans that had no logical reason to happen happened.
Segment 3
Seth Rollins promised that Cesaro will never disrespect him again and mocked him for having trouble getting up after two Stomps last week.
Shinsuke Nakamura came out and leveled Rollins with a kinsasha and then headed to the back with his message sent.
Segment 4
The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. Rey and Dominik Mysterio
In a new standard, the Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode) joined the announce team.
Wonder where the focus of the match will be.
This was a good match and the Dirty Dawgs didn’t have a hand in it, much to our pleasure.
Dominik rolled up Dawkins for the win, and then sent Alpha Academy to the floor when they came out to stake their claim for the tag titles.
Oddly enough the Street Profits felt more like the heels in the match while the Dirty Dawgs on commentary were respectable. Could be an interesting angle coming up.
Segment 5
Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) vs. Rey and Dominic Mysterio
This was another pretty good match that Alpha Academy won after Otis hit a splash off the middle rope for the win.
Segment 6
Daniel Bryan promised to make Reigns tap out to his face at WWE Fastlane.
Segment 7
King Corbin vs. Sami Zayn
This was a quick match where Zayn pulled out all the stops but Corbin took advantage when Zayn argued with the ref to his an End of Days for the win.
Afterwards, when Owens said he didn’t see anything Zayn became unhinged and blindsided him with a Helluva Kick.
New feud on deck.
Segment 8
Big E and Apollo Crews held an interview where the emotions flowed before they went in search of each other.
Big E dominated Crews backstage before they were separated and Crews drove off in a golf cart.
They’re on fire the last couple weeks and it’s amazing to see how much better they’ve become while bringing the best out of each other. This is a world championship caliber feud.
Segment 9
Bianca Belair vs. Shayna Baszler w/Nia Jax
Jax headed to the back and the match lasted about a minute or two before Baszler and Belair were attacked by Natalya and Tamina, who laid waste to both superstars.
Segment 10
This started off with Edge using a more grinding style as he went for a crossface early on.
It looked like Edge hurt his ribs, and Jey knocked him into the announce table with a suicide dive through the ropes as we headed to commercial.
Segment 11
Edge won a good match that could’ve lasted 30 minutes without missing a beat with a spear.
Reigns then hit Edge with a spear, and Jey threw Bryan into the ring where Reigns hit him with a spear to stand tall.
Good to know the WWE ended it like we predicted in our preview post. A scrum is now the standard in Go Home episodes.
At least the ending didn’t take away from the rest of the show, and we think it was better than we expected so no complaints here.
What did you think about it? Let us know in the comments below, and thank you for joining WWE Smackdown Live Results. We had a great time and can’t wait to see you all next week.
