After releasing back on 10 March 2020, Warzone has quickly become one of the big three Battle Royales alongside both Fortnite and Apex Legends.
Unlike both Fortnite and Apex Legend there are both set in a fictional world. Call of Duty has had zombies and aliens in the past. Zombies have already hit Warzone, with hints of aliens arriving at some point.
That feels like the limit there can reach. The Nuke seems to be one of these massive events that can happen in Warzone. It feels like there are a lot of rules in the story if Warzone and the Nuke seem way too early.
Way too early
It seems like a Nuke in a game that is held back due to being connected to the continuity of the world. They would hold off on a Nuke for as long as possible. We will, at some point, see the aftermath of the Nuke. At the moment, it looks like we’re going back in time to see how it ended like this.
It feels like though we should have seen a lot more of Verdansk before its destruction. This is still the same map that we started with, and we also have Rebirth. The Nuke could have been used a lot later on to destroy, say, a lot of different maps.
If this was delayed for, say, a year or two, where they built up 2 other maps making it more like Apex Legends, then launched the Nuke, therefore, destroying multiple maps and then going in time. Maybe it would have expanded. The more maps destroyed would have made the event feel bigger.
The big climax seems like it would be bigger.
It feels like, at the moment, the event and aftermath of the whole event were kind of anti-climactic. This mostly due to the fact that we have a very short cut-scene that showed the Nuke exploding. After that, we didn’t get a new map but more of a reskin of the original map we had for a while.
The studio has said that we will never go back to the original map. At the moment, it still feels like we’re still kind of on the same map. Making it feel like nothing much has changed, and it will get pretty soon.
