In a recent rumour, it was reported that Aspyr is developing a remake of one of the best Star Wars games ever made, Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic. Aspyr has been behind multiple Star Wars ports and remakes of late.
With the latest being Star Wars: Republic Commando. It would make a lot of sense that Aspyr would be remaking one of the most popular Star Wars games on the current generation of consoles.
Where has the report come from?
In a recent interview with Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier. He went over the fact that the remake of Star Wars: Knight Of The Old Republic has been confirmed to be in the works by Aspyr. He went over this by saying this in the interview:
“I’ve basically confirmed that Aspyr – which is the company that has ported a bunch of KOTOR games, is working on the remake.”
Will we ever get the cancelled third game?
In 2008, there was a third Knights of the old Republic in development but then got cancelled. Now that LucasArts Games has taken over the Star Wars IPs again. It feels like all the ports and remakes are leading to something huge.
Hopefully, one of these is going to be the long cancelled games. That could have been huge at the time. There are still many Knight of The Old Republic fans out there with one of the best Star Wars games ever made and rumoured remakes and ports in development.
A long-awaited third game has to be in development at some point.
