Andre Muniz Reacts To Breaking Jacare Souza’s Arm With SICKENING Snap At UFC 262!

You don’t get to be Jiu Jitsu world champion without some degree of toughness, let alone ten times. Jacare Souza, however, might strip Masvidal of his BMF title as the toughest man in combat sports after his stone cold reaction to Andre Muniz snapping his arm.

Jacare Souza is a legendary grappler. Until this weekend, he’d never lost a bout by submission. That’s why, when Andrew Muniz, his opponent on the UFC 262 undercard, declared that his own grappling was superior, fight fans the world over had good reason to doubt the claim. But all that was shattered when Muniz submitted Souza in the first round of their epic fight with an audible arm break.

UFC legend’s INSANE reaction to BRUTAL mid-fight arm break

That’s right – Muniz not only snapped Souza’s arm just above the elbow, but fans around the world heard the sickening sound of bone crunching on live pay-per-view. Muniz said of his fellow Brazilian:

“I heard it snap. I let go, not only out of respect. I’m from jiu-jitsu I knew I could hurt it even more if I didn’t let it go.”

Muniz went on to declare Souza his “idol” and wished the 41-year-old a speedy recovery. Knowing the BJJ guru by reputation and character, he said:

“If I had a choke or a submission, he was going to go unconscious or I would have to break his arm. I forced the armbar, and I didn’t think his arm was going to break, but it happened. I wish him the best, and I hope he comes back fast. Best wishes to him in his recovery.”

The mental fortitude displayed by both men in the octagon is truly admirable.

Souza may be on his way out in MMA, as this was his fourth straight loss despite being his first by submission. On the other hand, Muniz is on a seven-fight win streak, including 15 from his last 16 bouts, and the 14th submission win of his fighting career.

Jacare will require surgery after this brutal loss, but you’d never know it from the man’s face while he was still in the octagon. Displaying the pain threshold of a pregnant rhinoceros, he barely flinched, simply holding his shattered arm against himself and even hugging Muniz following the bout.

UFC 262’s main card was exclusively populated by Brazilians and Americans. Do you think Jacare is on the way out as a fighter, or does his cool, calm, and collected reaction to a sickening injury suggest that he’s far from done? Or can Souza’s clearly dominant grappling put him in contention for Israel Adesanya’s seemingly unassailable middleweight title? Let us know in the comments below.
