Derrick Lewis was met with the unpleasant surprise that they wanted to steal his car, however more unpleasant was the situation for the alleged thief. UFC Heavyweight title contender Derrick Lewis is probably one of the last people someone should try to steal his car.

The footage, which is just fifteen seconds long, shows a thief being placed in the back of a Houston Police patrol car by an officer and two other members of law enforcement, while Lewis records from across the street.
Looking back at a black vehicle, some damage can be seen on the driver’s side door panel, just below the door handle, before Lewis states:
“Mofo picks the right/wrong car to break into to steal. It’s fine.”
In addition to sharing a photo showing both the suspect and the officers who attended to him, Lewis also showed the damage done to his car and added some commentary:
“Son of a f*** tried to break into my sh***.”
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. local time in the 15000 block of West Memorial Loop, Houston Police Department public information officer Jodi Silva confirmed to MMA Fighting.
Lewis told police he was returning to his car after a workout and heard banging noises coming from the driver’s side of the car. He then discovered the alleged thief, who was attempting to break into his vehicle with a screwdriver, according to the narrative attached to a police report.
“Mr. Lewis says he approached the suspect, punched him and put him on the ground until police arrived. That’s the nicest way to put it.”
The alleged robber was transported to the hospital for treatment and was in the process of being booked Tuesday afternoon. The alleged robber faces a charge for criminal mischief.
