Right now in WWE NXT, Pete Dunne is in a weird spot. He’s one of the main event talents on the brand, as shown by his involvement in the main event of NXT Takeover: In Your House, but isn’t seemingly anywhere near grabbing the coveted NXT Championship. In recent weeks, his role has been that of trying to provoke Samoa Joe, who is currently the enforcer of NXT GM William Regal.
However, he’s been kept busy outside of NXT as he keeps up with the exploits of the England National Football Team in the Euro 2021 tournament. With them having made the finals, he’s using that buzz to do some good, as he looks to auction off some recent ring gear for charity.
Pete Dunne Is Looking To Raise Some Money For A Great Cause
At NXT Takeover: In Your House during the chaotic Fatal Five Way main event, Dunne stood out in his unique gear for the event. It was designed with the England team’s color scheme in mind, as a nod to his team of choice in the Euro 2021 tournament. Like most wrestlers wearing white themed gear, he really popped out during this match, the intended effect.
Despite the gear looking great, he won’t be using it again as it’s now up for sale. His entrance vest, kick pads and singlet are up for auction right now on eBay. Dunne would explain the reasoning on Twitter, saying the following. “With England through to the finals, I’ve decided to auction my euros inspired gear from Takeover In Your House with all proceeds going to Acorns Children’s Hospice in the West Midlands UK. The auction will be up for the next 5 days.”
The Twitter account for the hospice quickly replied with “This is awesome. Thank you so much for supporting us with this!” with others in the comments backing up how great of a cause to support this is. At the time of writing, after just 14 bids the price is already up to $405 US dollars.
