WWE Smackdown Preview is set for an interesting episode as we welcome back Sasha Banks in her familiar role of a heel.
It wasn’t the best laid plan last week as everyone had to know Banks was going to stab Bianca Belair in the back by the end of the night, but it worked as Banks milked it out as long as she could.
Belair didn’t just beat her for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, she also infuriated her to the point Banks walked out of an interview the day after and we hadn’t seen her again until last week.
So, it made sense she was still angry and that she attacked Belair when she had her chance.
And now we’ll get to hear from Banks tonight as we think she’ll explain her reasons and planning over the last couple of months to return and reclaim her championship.
A problem like John Cena
Everyone was stoked for a Finn Balor and Roman Reigns match at SummerSlam, but it wasn’t meant to be. Or maybe it is.
We doubt Balor will take this laying down, and with Baron Corbin mixed up in it we expect the two of them to face off in a mini feud to earn the right to get into the Universal Championship match.
For us, it screams the match will end up being a Triple Threat or Fatal Four Way. It’s almost a given since the WWE has become married to these gimmick matches.
Plus, it’ll be a way for Reigns to possibly lose the Universal title without losing, and Cena doesn’t have to lose either.
This way they’ll both remain strong despite the outcome.
Of course, there’s every chance that Paul Heyman will try to find a way to nullify the contract against Cena, and we expect him to succeed on some level.
If nothing else, it’ll result in a couple of matches where Cena will have to get through the Usos, and maybe a tag match thrown in for good measure.
This has the potential to be a fun rivalry, and it’ll be interesting to see which direction they go in with this.
Edge retaliates on Seth
After Seth Rollins took Edge out last week, it’s a safe bet that Edge will return the favor this week.
The main question is when will he strike and will Rollins manage to slip away? We expect this to be a fun bit as Edge tries to hunt him down.
