Dakota Kai is set for the biggest match in her NXT career at NXT Takeover 36, when she faces her old friend turned bitter rival in Raquel Gonzalez. She has a chance to gain some steam before then, as tonight Sarray steps up to perhaps look to prove that she belongs in the title match instead. Before the match, Kai would call out Gonzalez and say she would defeat Sarray and end her unbeaten streak.
Sarray Looks To End This One Quick

Sarray would be choked in the corner by Kai, before being beaten to the mat with clubbing blows. Kai launched off a big kick to the spine, but was only able to get a two count.
Sarray would bridge out some pinfalls before rushing into a rollup, moving right into a deep single leg crab. Kai was so close to the ropes yet so far away, and almost had to tap out, but was able to struggle over and break the hold. Maintaining control, Sarray would hit a big hip drop and a Fisherman Suplex for a two count.

It’d become a slugfest, showing a different side of Sarray as she is pulled into deep waters. A scorpion kick stunned Sarray for a moment, before she nailed two massive dropkicks to Kai in the ropes. The third would miss, and Kai nailed a desperate pump kick. One final running kick in the corner would drop Sarray, ending this match with a bang,
Hard hitting and fast paced action from both names, with Sarray having her best showing yet. A match like this was also important for Kai, as it proved her worth once again as a top singles name. Match Rating: 3.5/5 (*** 1/2)
After the match, Sarray only dodged a boot from Kai after Raquel Gonzalez stormed the ring. She’d break her silence and say that if Kai wanted a shot she would only have to ask.
