This is the last stop on the way to SummerSlam, and WWE Smackdown Preview expects the Go Home episode of Smackdown to be more of what we’ve seen the last couple of weeks.
There are plenty of feuds building for a confrontation at SummerSlam, and the biggest one is Roman Reigns defending the Universal Championship against John Cena.
We’ve seen some good and bad moments between these two, and we’re hoping we don’t get another half hour exchange between them with Cena count to three a dozen times.
We wouldn’t be surprised if the match is set mainly through recaps and a couple of backstage moments.
The Usos and Mysterios
This is another feud we expect to see build with a possible singles match as Dominik continues to try and prove to Rey he’s learning.
If Dominik does have a match, we expect him to sneak out a win to help build momentum and make he and Rey look like legitimate threats to the Usos for SummerSlam.
It’s unfortunate the Usos lost a lot of steam the last couple of weeks, and they probably should’ve been feuding with another team.
The Mysterios are fun to watch, but something about this rivalry doesn’t energize us.
Edge and Seth Rollins
This is another one that’s kinda lost steam despite some great promos, and that’s mainly because they’re both heels.
Edge may not be meant to be one, but that’s how he comes across with the same whining that Rollins does.
Still, they’re both capable of telling an intricate story and we’re excited to see what they come up with heading into SummerSlam.
We expect an ambush or something to happen backstage to liven things up, or even have them in the same ring to tease an altercation. Hopefully, it won’t be another exchange over the titantron.
Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks
With the Smackdown Women’s Championship on the line, and assuming whatever sidelined them last weekend is better, we think Banks and Belair will take to the ring to continue building for their match.
Of course, and we keep predicting this, there could be a twist coming since Becky Lynch has been rumored to be at SummerSlam and may even take part.
There’s every chance Lynch could insert herself into this match one way or another, and that could prove entertaining.
Big E’s MITB contract
In what could be the worse storyline of the year 2.0, Baron Corbin stoles Big E’s MITB contract last week.
And since this feels eerily familiar to last year’s horrendous MITB storyline, we expect them to have a match either tonight or at SummerSlam and the winner will get the contract.
If this is the case, at least we shouldn’t have to suffer for months like last year?
