AEW has become one of the fastest rising companies in wrestling in a long time. It is now one of the biggest competitors of WWE. In its three year run, it’s already showing massive signs that it will surprise WWE in the future. The first sign was that AEW easily beat NXT’s ratings when they were scheduled on the same day. Now, however, it looks like they’re on the road to completely overtaking Raw in one of AEW highest ratings of 1.319 million.
That number, however, isn’t the number we’re looking at. The all-important numbers come under the 18-49 demographic. This being the demographics that’s the most important in viewers. AEW in the last episode of Dynamite beat Raw in that important demo, therefore beating Raw in the ratings.
Tony Khan’s Reaction
In a Tweet thanking the fans for this, Tony Khan has said this:
“Thank you to all of you amazing wrestling fans who made #AEWDynamite the #1 show on cable Wednesday for the 3rd straight week + were part of our biggest viewership since our debut! We’re setting new records for tv, PPV, live attendance, + merchandise, all thanks to you great fans!”
This is soon after All Out PPV sales hit a record high, and Tony Khan has also thanked fans for that through Twitter with this:
“Thank you to everyone who made All Out the most successful event in @AEW history, including everyone who ordered All Out on PPV. All the fans there live on Sunday +, of course, the amazing AEW wrestlers & staff. Tonight we’re LIVE with #AEWDynamite & always appreciate your support!”
Ratings are All Elite
It looks like there is currently no wall tall enough for AEW to hit with surpassing milestone after milestone. Many predictions have been made by wrestlers and fans that AEW will surpass Raw soon in all ratings. Unfortunately, it looks like Smackdown is the next milestone.
