The bad blood between UFC boss Dana White and boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya just keeps getting worse. In response to De La Hoya’s recent comments about Dana’s business practices, the UFC President quickly him as a drug addict, loser, and scumbag.
This all came after Dana accused De La Hoya of faking his COVID-19 diagnosis in order to escape that very same Belfort fight. De La Hoya fired back.
Dana White Unloads On “All Around Scumbag” De La Hoya
“That’s all you got, Dana White? You’re accusing me of faking a virus that killed almost 700,000 Americans to avoid a fight? You pathetic piece of sh*t. You’ve never even laced up the gloves. And you completely ignored my original point I made about underpaying your fighters.”
“Don’t worry about Volkanovski, you clown,” White said on Instagram. “He has a team of very intelligent, sophisticated people behind him and he’s clearly doing very well for himself. If he needs to buy an 8-ball, then maybe he will reach out to you for some guidance.
It’s no secret you’re a liar, drug addict and all around scumbag. It doesn’t matter that you ‘laced up the gloves’ and there is no doubt you accomplished big things in boxing but out of the ring you are an absolute f*cking loser.”
White also brought up De La Hoya’s failed bid as an MMA promoter, reminding the boxer that he still owes fight fans a superfight against Vitor Belfort.
“When you were a one and done MMA promoter, you lied about what Chuck [Liddell] and Tito [Ortiz] would make and you paid everyone sh*t!! Not to mention you didn’t even take the time to learn the names of the fighters on your card. So f*ck off. Leave the fight promoting to me. And do the whole world a favor and fight Vitor Belfort so we can all watch you go to sleep!”
It doesn’t seem like this rivalry is going away. De La Hoya, like many others, has been vocal in his criticism of the UFC’s fighter pay scale. Dana White treats De La Hoya like all his other critics, as yet another voice trying to shut his business down. At this point, it doesn’t matter who’s right or wrong – the pair seem to enjoy insulting one another as much as they enjoy booking fights.
Do you think Oscar De La Hoya should live and let live when it comes to the UFC’s fighter pay, or should Dana White start paying his fighters more? Let us know in the comments.
