We’re back with another “Squash Match Masters”! Cue the Mobil Masterpiece Theatre theme, please. This time we have Yokozuna, one of the cleanest squash match masters to grace WWE!
Yokozuna vs. Rich Myers (WWE Superstars, 11/24/92)
Myers was introduced first so remember his name because Yokozuna’s about steamroll him. He eats several sumo slaps from the massive man and gets manhandled with a one-armed scoop slam.
He treated the dude like a little kid. I’m not saying that large adults should be just slamming little kids or anything. I can’t tell you which was worse: Yokozuna’s massive leg drop to the back of the head or the Banzai Drop.
Ross Greenberg Gets Splattered (WWE RAW, 02/15/92)
I’m liking Greenberg’s pink and black drip here. Those tights are so damn radica—Yokozuna just made him bite his tongue on that clothesline! The leg drop he delivers is also nasty but clean at the same time.
Then again, it’s a leg drop it should be pulled off without incident. What was truly nasty was the Banzai Drop that had some bounce to it. Damn, here lies the best dressed 90s jobber, apparently.
The Banzai Drop was such a destructive move! It had only two counters: don’t get dragged into the corner by your arm like garbage to the curb or catch Yoko while he’s heading up.
I mean, it’s not even smart to kick him while he’s on the first bottom rope since he could still flatten you at low elevation!
Someone, Please Call 911 (WWE RAW)
I’ve looked for the name of the enhancement talent involved in this match. It could’ve been Dan Dubiel but the black singlet and boots non-drip was common amount WWE and WCW since time immemorial.
This is why we have the video of this total flattening of a human being. Like that is an all-ass-no-foot-first Banzai Drop. This dude almost ended up like a depleted toothpaste tube. Yoko almost put this guy’s rib cage through the mat. Look at this Banzai Drop!
From a couple of accounts, it appears that the guy said something disrespectful about Mr. Fuji and Yokozuna had to give him that work.
Whatever the story, this is the nastiest Banzai Drop I’ve seen him deliver. If you enjoy Yoko’s squashes and one a great collection of them, check out the “Yokozuna vs. Jobbers 1992-1998″ playlist on the SavageGamez YouTube.
