The WWE Draft has always been a source of Main Roster call ups from NXT. From Finn Balor to Ember Moon, the quality of call up’s success will tend to vary. However a top NXT faction is already off to a great start – after just one promo. Hit Row got called up on the first night of the WWE Draft, the unit of current NXT North American Champion Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, Ashante Adonis, Top Dolla and B-Fab. After just a few months being one of the best parts of NXT – they’re here to take over, and already are trusted to cut promos without a script.
Hit Row Are Already Cutting Their Promos Without A Script
From the name Hit Row and their streetwise style, their gimmick is clear. They’re here to kick ass and drop rap cyphers whenever possible. While Swerve and Adonis are top talents in the ring, they’re at their best when each member is showing their skills on the ring. These skills are already being shown in full force – as they remain unscripted. This fact alone should be enough to get some fans behind them, as it shows great trust in skill.
It was confirmed by Top Dolla himself, as he responded to a fan on Twitter. “Last night we cut a promo. Unscripted. Like every promo we ever cut. We made us. Stop talking about things you don’t know.” The fan who tweeted at them has since removed the initial tweet. Top Dolla would also say the following: “Stop comparing us to other people who couldn’t transition to the main roster. We can promo. Thanks, Management.”
Mic Skills Get You TV Time In WWE
That last comment could rub some the wrong way, and sets them up well as heels once again. Some have stumbled upon hitting the main roster, due to a lack of mic skills or defined characters. In WWE, being a strong wrestler helps – but you’re not getting on TV from skill alone, just look at Ricochet & Drew Gulak.
Hit Row are going to take Friday Nights by storm with their skill set. We can expect Swerve to go right after King Nakamura, and Top Dolla & Adonis are potential tag team champions. B-Fab is the least polished, but that could be fixed in time as she wrestles more matches.
