Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here, it’s Friday night which means it’s almost time for another edition of WWE SmackDown! And we have… not a whole lot advertised for it, as of an hour before the show starts. That does not seem sound, and it’s certainly not something that makes my job easier! Of course I might just be spoiled by AEW giving me whole cards to work with every week… but I digress. Let’s just look into everything we can for now, shall we?
More invasions likely, days out from Survivor Series.
As usual these past few weeks, they’re teasing yet more invasions going on. It seems likely to me that Becky Lynch will be here to go after Bayley, since that seems like the one major thing that hasn’t happened quite yet. Looking at what happened on Raw, perhaps Andrade will show up to deal with the Lucha House Party after they ruined his shot at becoming team captain at Survivor Series.
One thing’s for sure, there’s gonna be a lot of people in single colored t-shirts having fairly uninspired brawls. And if the last few weeks are anything to go by, they’ll do so in front of largely disinterested fans. Hey, if they want me to make it sound good, they should probably give me something less vague…
Roman Reigns, Mustafa Ali & Shorty G vs. King Corbin, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode
Team SmackDown implodes!! Well it’s kinda been like that for a while… and Roode & Ziggler didn’t end up making the team. It’s pretty much just everyone hating King Corbin, which is par for the course. I wonder if Braun will ever actually interact with his partners in any way…
Regardless, lot of talent in this match and it should be real good. Thus far, when Roman, Ali and Shorty G have teamed up they’ve had some really fun action. And they’ve got some good opponents here. One would think one of either Roode or Ziggler will be eating the fall here, but it would be pretty funny if King Corbin ensured that his own team was lacking momentum heading into Survivor Series.
Then again, who am I kidding, this match might not even finish. It actually seems like an extremely likely place for an invasion to take place, given that almost all of Team SmackDown is out there. And then Braun could make the save… wouldn’t be the worst idea.
Daniel Bryan summons the Fiend.
Yes, that’s how they’re describing it, both on their website and in the e-mail they sent out earlier today… basically he’ll be calling out Bray Wyatt to face him, which seems like a great way to get choked out by the mandible claw to me. Atleast I think ‘choke out’ is an appropriate way to describe that…
Question will be, is Bryan really gonna be alone tonight? Will Sami and the gang make another appearance to back him up and try and sway him? Or does he let him see for himself what happens when he tries to face the Fiend all by himself?
I’ll be giving a live recap of the show as it occurs, as always.
