UFC’s Jan Blachowicz Blasts BITTER “Quitter” Corey Anderson

UFC light heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz has doubled down in his war of words against Corey Anderson. Anderson recently proclaimed himself the greatest light heavyweight alive despite losing to the UFC champion and leaving the promotion.

Blachowicz addressed the issue on The MMA Hour. “I just want to put him to the ground, again.

Blachowicz Blasts Bitter “Quitter” Corey Anderson

The difference between me and him is when I lost the fight, I don’t quit, because I’m not a quitter. He lost the fight and he quit. He let it go.

Maybe the pressure was too big for him, and he went somewhere else, to the second league, and now he’s talking, or barking. C’mon, I don’t understand that. Why doesn’t he stay in the UFC? He can renegotiate everything right now, money and stuff like this. No, he’s just a coward and quitter.

That’s why he’s doing this. Now he’s safe over there, because I’m not over there. I think that’s why he started barking.”

Anderson secured a stunning victory at Bellator 268, as well as a $1 million payout. Bellator’s chief, Scott Coker, agreed with Anderson’s assessment of his own ability.

Anderson claimed that his move to Bellator was a financial choice, and that he wasn’t running away from Blachowicz. A million-dollar payout might add some credence to this idea, but quitting the promotion following a loss to the future champion isn’t a great look for anybody.

Blachowicz continued blasting Anderson’s choices, taking particular issue with his departure from the UFC. Blachowicz echoed a widely held sentiment in the combat sports world that Bellator is seen as a second-tier alternative to the UFC. Certainly, the UFC remains synonymous with mixed martial arts, and is home to the sport’s biggest stars.

Although the promotion has come under fire in recent years over issues of fighter pay, it’s till home to Conor McGregor, 2021’s highest-paid athlete. From Blachowicz’s perspective, Anderson would have been better off in second place (at best) in the top promotion than in first place at a lower level of competition.

“So he’s got a bad manager, I don’t know. He tells everything. But anyway, before he goes to sleep, he knows he’s a quitter and a coward, because he left the champion’s league.

Corey, congratulations, great job, but anyway, you escaped from the UFC. So that’s it.” Do you think Corey Anderson is a quitter, or is he better than Jan Blachowicz knows? Let us know in the comments.
