It’s time to crown a new King of The Ring. Finn Balor won the Smackdown side of the bracket, beating out both Sami Zayn & Cesaro in very hard fought matches. Xavier Woods would win the RAW side, coming out on top of both Jinder Mahal and Ricochet to earn his spot. While Balor is a decorated singles champion in WWE, this is the first big chance that Woods has had in the singles ranks – and won’t let it go to waste. King of The Ring has always been his dream, and tonight he’s got the chance.

Balor would use another chinlock, but Woods was able to slip out easier this time.
Could The Boyhood Dream Come True?

Woods would catch him with a hard superkick, and fell into a pinfall for a two count. Balor was able to rally back, blocking a Samoan Drop attempt with some downward elbow strikes.
Woods would counter out of Bloody Sunday with a small package, before setting up a superplex and getting a two count for the effort. The rope walk elbow drop was countered, with Balor getting the knees up. Slingblade & John Woo dropkick combo would land, and Coup De Grace had to be dodged. A tight cradle got a two count, and Woods would hit a gutbuster, and nail the rope walk elbow drop for the win!
A match tailor made to have Xavier Woods look better than ever, with Finn Balor doing everything to make him look like a star – something which really wasn’t hard. Woods deserved this big singles accolade, after countless great performances over the years. It was a solid performance more than anything, but perfect for a King of The Ring finals. Match Rating: 3.75/5 (*** 3/4)
