The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentions that CM Punk gave advice for the Rampage going up against Smackdown. The first suggestion was that he keep the show the same and take the bullet and wrestle first.
It makes a lot of sense why the card wasn’t changed last minute to counter the stacked Smackdown. However, the advice did seemingly help Rampage win the all-important Demo.

After the advice seemed like it gave Rampage a chance and won the Demo, it’s likely that CM Punk will be giving a lot more advice in the future.
The first battle may be over, but the war has only just begun. With Raw viewership dropping and AEW is going steady with a chance of growing. It’s likely CM Punk will be heavily involved in what happens next in AEW.
