WWE SmackDown is on tonight and as is often the case with WWE TV shows, they are slow to roll out announcements. As I type, they just now revealed the SECOND thing that they have planned for this show! For someone with a job like mine, that is uh, pretty inconvenient. But hey, they’re probably still rewriting and finalizing the script as we speak so you gotta expect that.
All the same, let’s go ahead and get to what little we currently have… I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer, with the first of the previews for tonight’s WWE SmackDown!
Bray Wyatt has announced a new cast member for the Firefly Funhouse!
In other words, another puppet will be added to the fold, the first since Huskus’ debut several months ago. This is interesting, given how long we’ve had the same few characters lurking around, and the Funhouse was probably due for some kind of shake-up.
I’ve seen a lot of people speculate that this could be Sister Abigail making a physical debut, since the idea of bringing into the fold and giving her the Abigail gimmick in some form or another has been a popular one for a long time. But this would be sorta odd to me given that obviously Abbey is meant to fill that role. She could theoretically just be transformed into a real person but that wouldn’t quite be a new cast member.
Of course since we’re talking about bringing other real life folks into the show, Bray has been receptive to the idea of bringing Luke Harper on-board, actually stating that he’d be on already if he could help it. So there’s that possibility. What role he’d have I’m not sure, but there’s room for Bray to have guest hosts of a sort.
Failing that, I always personally thought it was very strange that there were no sheep characters among all those puppets. You have the ‘follow the buzzards’ catchphrase represented with Mercy, Abbey the witch for Sister Abigail, even Huskus fits as a reference to Bray. Ramblin’ Rabbit was always kind of the odd one out but I think that’s part of why he’s constantly killed. No sheep though, after years of going with that imagery. Maybe that’s fixed tonight.
