Sheamus has been out of action for quite some time. He was last seen the week after WrestleMania. On that week’s SmackDown, the former WWE Champion (and United States, Tag Team, World Heavyweight, Money In The Bank, King Of The Ring and Royal Rumble winner) suffered a concussion and has been out ever since.
It’s thought to have been a severe one as it kept him out of action for quite a long time and many speculated on a potential retirement. Given his age, his career did seem somewhat in jeopardy and many believed that it was a realistic possibility that we’d never see him in the ring again. For all we know he really did have a scare of that nature. He was actually reportedly cleared for an in-ring return back in September but obviously never showed up afterwards.
Atleast not until today.
On tonight’s edition of WWE SmackDown, a vignette aired showing the Celtic Warrior himself.
Sheamus, sporting his old classic hair-do and look in general, appeared to call the SmackDown roster soft and said that now is the perfect time for him to return and ravage the land.
Those who have seen him on social media and YouTube will note that he’s been working very hard to get into the best shape of his life in his off-time, looking incredibly cut in photos. It’ll be interesting to see how well that translates into the ring and if he has any new tricks up his sleeve on his return.
You can see a more in-depth recap of the vignette below:
Oh hey… vignette of Sheamus! He says he’s had a lot of time to watch the lay of the land and the current state of SmackDown is… pathetic. All he sees are a bunch of misfits and coward. A fiend. A king. A Shorty G, whatever the hell that is. No one hungry, no one with a backbone and no one… like him. This is the perfect time for the Celtic Warrior to return and ravage everything that stands in his way. SmackDown will be his.
